Sometimes an article appears in Mainstream Media (MSM) that is so ridiculous that it can only have been penned by those dastardly conspiracy theorists. You could call it “a conspiracy theorist wet dream”. One such article appeared in today’s Irish Independent (on the front page of the web site) entitled
Sometimes I want to stick my head in the sand like most of the world around me. You are spot on about global rationing. This fuel rationing story is now everywhere. On 2nd June, the head of Global Commodities for Bank of America spoke exactly on this topic on Bloomberg, as did the CEO of a global refinery a day earlier. On that same day, Yahoo Finance ran a story about fuel shortages in Africa, however, the problem there isn’t a lack of crude oil, but a lack of refineries. There have been a number of "explosions" and "fires" knocking some refineries out (echos of food processing plants in the US also experiencing this), but the real reason - since 2019 Western firms have pulled out of refinery projects in Africa and local investors could not come up with financing. This is of course a by-product of the movement towards green investing, and also the reason US oil companies are unable to drill. But lets blame Putin.
